Large Deformation and Instability of Soft Hollow Cylinder With Surface Effects

Abstract Surface stress, which is always neglected in classical elastic theories, has recently emerged as a key role the mechanics of highly deformable soft solids. In this paper, effect surface stress on deformation and instability hollow cylinder analyzed. By incorporating energy density function into constitutive model hyper-elastic theory, explicit solutions are obtained for large under uniform pressure loading geometric everting. The tension residual have significant cylinder. When everting applied cylinder, changes critical condition creases found by varying parameters. Two models instability, crease global buckling behavior, will be generated with pressure, formed dependent ratio thickness to radius. results work reveal that obviously influences both at finite helpful understanding predicting mechanical behavior structures accurately.
